Hi, I’m Mike.
At Shields Consulting, our mission is to provide our business partners a foundationally proven process that removes the complexities of leadership while delivering a modularized strategic planning process designed to provide clarity and get results.
With over 34 years of corporate experience, which included 5 years in non-profit ministry, it became evidently clear that the majority of leaders who are operationally responsible for the success of their organization are over-whelmed, overworked, and at times understaffed. All of which can lead to a “first responder” approach to leadership, which fans the flame of stress and can marginalize staff culture and effectiveness. This can and does significantly impact the leader’s ability to cast vision and execute towards success. I do believe that the majority of leaders have a strong desire to establish and foster a legacy that is built on the principles of leading well, development and empowering team members, while watching over and caring for the overall well-being of the organization.
In today’s market place, research shows that the workforce desires and at times, demands a leader who provides and supports a comprehensive learning environment. This means leaders have to balance the employee learning and developmental needs in with the organization’s plans for future growth. Gone are the days of old, where the authoritative style of leadership dominated organizational culture. The result of this cultural change can stimy leadership effectiveness, leading to confusion and apathy.
However, there is good news, really good news. When the simplified leadership framework that we use, model, and coach toward, is combined with our strategic planning process and or individualized leader coaching, you and your team are given the tools needed to be more confident, efficient, and successful. We can help address the need for development and reduce the reactive approach to leading.
